E. O'Connell, rider of Wilde 'N Wide trained by A.J. McNamara, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise in-running.

S.J. Crimin, rider of Cisro trained by Gerard Keane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost its action and pulled up.

A.J. McNamara, trainer of Wilde 'N Wide, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on 23rd December that his charge made a respiratory noise in running.

The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after the start involving A Toi Phil (FR), ridden by Mr P.W. Mullins, Paper Lantern, ridden by Mr J.C. Barry, and Sizing Alberta (FR), ridden by Mr J.J. Codd, where it appeared Sizing Alberta (FR), A Toi Phil (FR) and Paper Lantern ran off the first bend. Evidence was heard from Mr L. Wyer, Clerk of the Course and the riders concerned. Mr J.J. Codd stated that his mount cocked his jaw and veered left before he rejoined the race and finished fifth. Mr P.W. Mullins stated that his mount was carried out and then also cocked his jaw and ran out. Mr J.C. Barry stated that his mount was carried wide but he rejoined the race and finished third. Mr L. Wyer stated that the start was positioned where it was to ensure that the race was run over the correct distance. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered and took no further action.
