The Stewards requested a report from M.J. Ferris, rider of Canny Tom, trained by S. Donohoe, regarding his riding in this race. The rider reported that he had jumped his mount towards the rear to get him settled as he had reportedly raced freely in his bumpers. However during the race his mount jumped poorly and raced further back than he intended. In the straight the horse then stayed on past tired horses. Having considered the rider's report the Stewards noted its contents.

D. Meyler, rider of Indian Fairy trained by Eoin Doyle, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right turning into the straight.
