B.T. O'Connell, rider of Ballyegan Hero trained by John J. Walsh, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise and hung right in running.

The Stewards interviewed B.J. Cooper, rider of Road To Respect, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(e), in that he hit the horse in an area other than down the shoulder or on the hindquarters and having considered his record, cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.

The Stewards interviewed D.G. Hogan, rider of The Pine Martin, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f) and 10.4, in that he used the whip with excessive frequency, while failing to give his mount time to respond and having considered his record, suspended him for two race days.
