The Stewards requested a report from John Paul Brennan, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Our Brian, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer's representative, Tom Power, reported that the horse failed to stay the trip on his last start. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation.

John W. Nicholson, trainer of The Brock Inn, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Thursday 14th July that his charge was found to be in season post race.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Emma Beag, trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race.
